Welcome

The Central North Carolina Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (CNCC-AMS) is an autonomous local chapter of the American Meteorological Society made up of professional meteorologists, professors/teachers, students, and other interested individuals from throughout the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill) and surrounding region of Central North Carolina. Founded in 1968, the CNCC-AMS membership has included numerous prominent individuals in the professional and academic meteorological communities, include two past presidents of the American Meteorological Society.

The CNCC-AMS meetings are generally held on the third Thursday of the month from September through April in Jordan Hall on the campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh. These meetings are open to anyone that has interest in attending and participating in this meteorological networking and informational exchange.

The Central North Carolina Chapter is proud to have been award the Honor Roll distinction by the National AMS for the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 years.
