What do I need to do to become a meteorologist?
A career in meteorology begins with the right education. Meteorology uses plenty of math, especially calculus, and science (physics and chemistry), so being well-versed in these subjects is important.
A college degree is required to be a meteorologist. Most of the meteorologists here at the State Climate Office of North Carolina have a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. Some have gone on to receive their Master's degrees and even PhDs in Meteorology.
