The Problem

North Carolina experiences extreme damage each year due to severe thunderstorms and hail. However, we do not know when the severe storms occur and where. People need to know so they can be prepared and be safe.

The Purpose

The purpose of this project is to compare the damage caused by severe thunderstorms and hail.

The Hypothesis

Hail events in North Carolina had a greater impact on the state than did severe thunderstorms from 1958 to 2004.
