The State Climate Office of North Carolina celebrated its 25th anniversary of public service on Oct 26, 2001 in the Centennial Campus of North Carolina State University. During this occasion, President Molly Corbett Broad inaugurated the NC ECONet, and Chancellor Marye Anne Fox made a public announcement on the National Weather Service- State Climate Office partnership in providing enhanced climate forecasts for North Carolina. Representatives from several State and Federal Agencies, Universities, and State Climatologists of the Southeast region took part in the celebration and in the Symposium following the NC ECONet inauguration. Symposium on the Future of Climate Services
The 25th anniversary of the State Climate Office of North Carolina public service held on October 26, 2001 provided an unprecedented avenue for different organizations, and experts to meet and develop a cohesive discussion on the future needs of climate related services in North Carolina. Several state, federal, and local agencies and private institutions participated through presentations, and active panel discussions.
